114th Aviation Company
|
Columbia Recognition As
reported in the previous Knight Letter, the Executive Council approved a
contribution of $500 each to the Salute to Veterans Corporation and the Boone
County Fire Protection District (BCFPD) Perseverance
Endowment Fund for their significant support and assistance in Reunion 2001.
The source of the money for the contributions came from the Reunion
profit. The
Salute to Veterans Corporation acknowledged our donation in their monthly
newsletter and at their March monthly meeting of volunteers and organizers. The BCFPD presented a framed certificate of appreciation for support of Perseverance Endowment Fund, “For the protection of Boone County Firefighters and their families”, to the 114th Aviation Company at the First Annual Perseverance Dinner. Other supporters at the dinner included prominent business and media personnel and elected officials. Chief Steve Paulsell commented about the heroic participation of the BCFPD Missouri Task Force I in the 9-11 event and emphasized that the members of the 114th Aviation Company are his real heroes.
