2003 Reunion Tour Descriptions



GOLF TOURNAMENT
Thursday July 31st

The golf tournament will be held at the beautiful golf course at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  Lunch will be served and the fees for entry into the tournament include the lunch, golf cart and green fees. 11:30am depart the Hotel with 6:30pm estimated return time $75.00 per person.


POTOMAC MILLS SHOPPING TRIP
Thursday July 31st

All interested in shopping in one of the East Coasts largest outlet malls wont want to miss this event.  Board the bus at the Hotel for Potomac Mills to visit a retail Mecca where you can enjoy over 220 stores with discounts up to 70% off your favorite name brand merchandise.  Stores located here include Spiegel Outlet, 9 West Outlet, Old Navy Outlet, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Burlington Coat Factory, and Brooks Brothers just to name a few.  If you have Internet access, feel free to print their coupon for additional savings. www.potomac-mills.com 12:30pm depart the Hotel with 6:30pm back at the Hotel $14.00 per person includes transportation and escort.


WHITE HOUSE/ CAPITAL BUILDINGS TOUR
Friday August 1st

This is one tour not to miss.  Special permission has been granted for 114th personnel to visit the White House and then the Capital Building.  You will be able to see all the famous rooms of the White House with a personal tour guide explaining each and every detail in each room.  You will be told of some of the historic moments shared in each room.  You will enter the mansion through the side entrance and be guided into the hollowed halls wishing that they could talk of the guests that walked before you making history shared by all in the land.  The escort will be careful to point out each little detail of every room visited and answer your questions.  Then you will be off to tour the Capital Buildings.  What you will see and be reminded of will be those historic events of yesterday, those decisions made by our founding fathers and present day political leaders molding todays government. 6:30am board bus for the White House, 11:00am return to the Hotel $20.00 per person includes bus and escort.


MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR GEORGE J. YOUNG ARLINGTON CEMETERY
Friday August 1st 1:00pm

The passing of George J. Young on May 9th will be remembered, as he will be interred at Arlington Cemetery.  Special ceremonies will honor the Golden Knight allowing all to share in his heroism, dedication, leadership and sincerity. 12:00pm bus departs Hotel, 3:30pm bus returns to Hotel $14.00 per person for transportation  


CITY TOUR
Saturday August 2nd

After lunch on your own, board the Trolley Cars for a guided tour of Washington, DC.  Planned in 1790 by Pierre Charles LEnfant as the capital for the United States, Washington is a city of broad avenues, circles, squares and lovely landscaped gardens.  Your guide will introduce you to the history and architecture of the city through its monuments, memorials, and federal buildings.  Points of interest include, but are not limited to the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian Institution Complex, Jefferson Memorial, and of course the Vietnam Memorial. 1:00pm board Trolley cars, 5:00pm return to Hotel $26.00 per person includes transportation and guide


MEMORIAL SERVICE AT THE VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL
Saturday August 2nd

Board bus for a memorial service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.  The Vietnam Veterans Memorial serves as a testament to the service of all American military personnel who served gave the supreme sacrifice so that we may share peace today.  You will have free time to view the wall, take rubbings of those comrades name from the wall and pause for that moment in time for those Knights who are remembered here.  There will be a special memorial service honoring our missing comrades where candles will be lit for each individual who served in the 114th and honored here. 8:00pm board bus, 11:00pm return to Hotel $14.00 per person for transportation


NATIONAL CATHEDRAL
Sunday August 3rd


Board bus for the National Cathedral for Sunday services which welcomes visitors of all faiths.  The Cathedral is the sixth largest cathedral in the world and possibly the last purely Gothic building to be constructed.  The Cathedral towers above the city from its 57-acre site high on Mt. St. Alban.  After the 11:00 service, you will have a few minutes to walk around the Cathedral in awe of this magnificent place of worship. 10:00am board bus, 1:00pm back at Hotel $14.00 per person includes transportation Please plan to be at the bus boarding area at least five minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.


CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

For attendees canceling reunion activities prior to the cut-off date, a full refund will be made.  Attendees canceling reunion activities after the cut-off date will be refunded to the fullest extent that the reunion vendor commitments and guarantees will allow.  Cancellations will only be taken Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm EST (excluding holidays).  Please call 800-939-5626 to cancel reunion activities and obtain a cancellation code.  Canceling your hotel reservation does not cancel your reunion activities.
