Rare and interesting shot, of Vietnamese artist as he applies artwork to Roberts ship. This artist painted nose art to the 114th aircraft for many years, as well as helmet art and unit signage, a really talented guy! Robert remembers that the pilot paid the fee for this work, the cost.. $10 MPC!

Vietnamese 'Beer can' plaque piece for 114th AHC Maintenance crews. Robert was a 'Hanger Rat' for 2 months, before being assigned as CE on the cobra flight-line. During Roberts tour, the unit was always short on Co- (peter) pilots. As a result, after a little O.T.J.T. Robert flew several missions in the back seat.

This shot shows artist astride the rear canopy, applying the aircraft serial number, (last 3 digits) to the rotor mast cover. You will note the unusual yellow marking applied to the upper cowling area. Robert was (and is) a big drag racing fan.

This marking and a red type seen on shot 3, are in fact stickers from a company 'H' & 'M' that was big in the area of Drag car tires, gearboxes etc, during the late 60's ( I bet they wished they could reach the speeds these babies did!) AH-1G 69-16420
